Bey, Jay, and Alweezy: The 3 Best Friends That Anyone Could Have

Alison finally met her idol: Yonce, Queen Bey, B, Beyonce, Bey Bey. Oh yeah and I met her husband, Hov, too. Nbd but kbd I think we’re besties now. If besties can be formed a mere couple hundred feet away from one another. I was able to sell my kidney budget enough to afford a ticket to the biggest concert of the summer: The On The Run Tour. I may have been sitting in the highest seats known to man (and having a massive panic attack) but I was still able to thoroughly enjoy the concert.

Even from the sky you can still tell that Beyonce is in kick a$$ shape. Every outfit was tighter than Rob Ford’s suits after lunch. The only time wore pants the whole show was to quickly cover her wedding dress leotard. If you can see muscle definition  from a quarter mile away, you know someone is in shape.

The show was superb. They blended their songs seamlessly together. It wasn’t half Jay Z and half Beyonce the whole show played off one another’s songs. Here is the set list:

My favorite, favorite, FAVORITE part of the whole show was the end. When you walked in the stage said “This is Not Real Life.” Throughout the concert they would play clips from the On The Run movie, music videos, and graphic bits that fit with the next song. These clips led up to Beyonce and Jay Z getting “caught” and showing a bunch of real life celebrity mug shots on the screen. Right after the celebrity mug shots, Jay and Bey came out to sing a mash-up of Forever Young, Halo, and The Lift Off. While they sang these songs, with Bey crushing Mr. Hudson’s portion of Young Forever, personal family videos, photos, and messages came across the screen. The show ended with a Carter family photo and the message “This is Real Life.” A subtle reminder that all these fame and fortune we see, is not the be all and end all. Beyonce and Jay Z left the stage hand in hand and credits rolled across the screen.

They didn’t need an encore. There was no chanting to bring them back on stage. They ended the concert so tastefully and with such a nice message there was no need for an encore. I was really impressed with how well put together the show was. This is a panoramic of the stadium during the finale:

I did not get very many good photos considering I was in the sky for the show. However, here are some of my favorite parts of the concert from the great inter-webs:

My second favorite part was Beyonce’s dance moves. Girl can DANCE. She spent a good minute dancing to nothing but gun shots. Impeccable timing and synchronization. I’m more than green with envy.

I spent all day yesterday wallowing in self pity that I was not Beyonce and did not have the Carters’ life. However, I realized that I was basically ignoring my favorite power couple’s request. They told everyone that the glamorous life they are portrayed to have isn’t real, what’s real is when they are with their family being normal, everyday people. The last thing I want to do is ignore my besties’ advice so I decided to cancel the xanax prescription and appreciate my life for what it is.

PS: So sorry I haven’t blogged in over a month. Things got away from me. I hope to not suck so much at blogging anymore. But no promises.

  1. Yes! Thank you! I am having to miss the only concert in my part of the US because I will be out of the country at that time. You made me feel like I was there!
